I guess between 3500 and 4500€ (at the most)

Greetings
1st post. Just wanted to say as a RED owner and operator for the last year I am very keen on the DII concept mainly cause of its size. Trust me Scarlet will cost you 12k to have a rig up and running for feature and if you have tried the RED Koolade then you know its addicting! I love RED and I love the images I can produce with it but I need a small camera that is ready to shoot out of the box for certain applications, the A-cam DII seems to be fitting the bill. We shall see. I would like to see more footage before I drop my deposit. Cheers and best of luck to the creators.

I am interested to see how the ikonoskop compares with the silicon imaging IIK mini really, since that is a camera which already exists and has been used in a way which is similar to the way you might use the ikonoskop, i.e: lightweight shooting 'on the fly' (see street footage of slumdog millionaire)

The red doesn't exist yet, and even when it does, it will need a few months to bed in, so that is much less of an issue.

the red scarlett that is. I find there are some irritating things about the exisiting red one. I don't like that grid that you get when you have a light source in shot, not very organic, for example (although it could have its creative uses once in a blue moon). that limits its use, but then again so does its sheer bulk, I guess. Still it is a revolutionary camera. Will the DII be revolutionary in its own right?

. RED ONE was just the 1st step in the right direction...considering its their 1st digital cinema camera, they nailed it imo...is it perfect? no...will it get better with the next firmware update? yes.

If the DII delivers (before skarlet) I do think it could have the potential to impact on the cinema community from the indies to the big leagues. Its certainly revolutionary in form factor, the sheer size is incredible considering the specs imo.

I am also curios how the DII stacks up against the Si-2k as I just saw slum dog last night and really appreciate Dod Mantles work.
