Hello everybody. I downloaded a CinemaDNG sample sequence and saw that each DNG file (Frame) is 3.4 MB. At 25 frames per second that is "only" 85 MB / second. Adding Audio isn't that much more. I'm wondering why the Memory cartidge has (or needs) a writing speed of 240 MB / second. |

The camera is intended to shoot up to 60 fps. This feature is not yet available, but I would imagine this can account for the larger write speed... |

Thank you, I didn't know of the planned 60 fps feature. That explains the need for this writing speed. |

Yea, but even at 60fps your still only going to have 2*85MB/s=170MB/s plus audio |

Oops... Sorry miss calculation, it would actually be 204MB/s. Maybe the scene you shot wasn't very complex and thus the camera didn't record at its maximum possible data rate... |
