Hi, I've just put some stills up from a short film I'm working on at my website shot on the A-CAM DII. www.reactfilms.co.uk

So far in shooting films and documentaries along with general stock footage I'm really impressed with the organic look this camera produces and how much information there is in each frame. The form factor is wonderful and I appreciate how simple it is to operate. I think Ikonoskop have made a real tool and a thing of beauty with this camera.

My own experiences thus far have taught me a few things to look out for: don't shoot with the back off the camera. Nudging the card can corrupt all it's data. Drill a hole like others have if you need HDSDI. A lead for that monitor plug on the side would do wonders! Make sure you test your sound lead. I've had an issue with an electronic buzz. Other than that though it's all good and actually kind of addictive to use!

Thanks for posting those nice looking images. I'm curious about what lens solutions you've found for the camera, and also how you deal with issues like camera shake if filming hand-held. From a lot of the test footage I've seen posted, people are getting very shaky pictures with this camera - maybe that's just a lack of experience or care, but I'm interested to hear what people are doing for camera support in a verite documentary setting.

does documentary means hand held? not necessary for my taste, so you mean hand held or what?

Pretty much all my documentary work has been on a tripod so far. When I go handheld it's usually with a rig that has a shoulder pad. I do use the camera with a prime and no rig sometimes but you have to be careful because your wrist will make the camera roll on all axis unless you're really still. That's not a problem if you're really steady or barely moving. A shoulder pad will eliminate the left right roll. As far as lenses go I have PL mount Canon 11.5-138 T2.5 which requires lens support and a 8.5mm prime.

Who makes your shoulder pad rig? Can you give a link to it? Thanks again - very useful detail. Also curious about your source for Super 16mm PL primes.

I use a Zacuto documentary rig with extra rods and their shoulder pad for the rods. I've picked all my PL mount lenses up off ebay a while back.. really hard to get hold of unless your buying a set normally.
