I have a SWIT monitor with HD-SDI connection, I've also got a HD-SDI smb to BNC cable which I'm using to hook the monitor into the camera.. I've selected video out in the menu but alas I can not get a picture. Any ideas where I'm going wrong?

Cheers

HI,

I had similar problem with pro-X monitor, but that monitor said NOT SUPPORTED or something. Acam works fine with Small HD dp6. It could be Your'e cable.
Cable need's to be 75OHM, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coaxial_cable

The HDSDI sends a 24p signal when the framerate is 24 fps, 25p when 25 fps,
29.97p when 29.97. It does not send a 24, 25 or 29.97 PsF signal.

i hope this answers some of You're questions.

The four pin lemo is USB host that can be used with a USB monitor. I'm not sure is that working now or not. I know that sound is working!

Great info thanks! Just found out my cable is 50ohm so hopefully that's all that's wrong.

Thanks a million!

Hi, I'm still having issues here. Is it possible to use a 50ohm cable hdi-sdi and connect it to a 750ohm bnc cable to the monitor to get a signal. Im trying this but its not working. here in the uk I'm struggling to get smb hd-sdi cables and with bnc connectors.. can any one help?

the SMB cable needs to be 75OHM, and SMB to BNC could be 50, thats what I use.

Been using the SMALLHD monitor today and it's been dropping out as in flicking to blue then back to the picture fairly randomly.. not sure what's happening there. Also the HD-SDI connection is so small for the weight of even a short cable it makes me nervous. Be great to see the proper monitor jack working.

hi rossawilson1

i have tvlogic monitor (it has 1080p25 hd-sdi input) and i have almost the same problem.
Whenever i plug my monitor (camera hd-sdi and monitor hd-sdi) to camera, picture never comes out at first. After 10-15 minutes (and several playing with cable, plug-in plug outs etc) suddenly picture comes with (some noisy lines). Once picture comes in it stays. But in most cases it random. İ could not figure out the reason yet. But what i am sure is reason is not cable since i have 3 different ikon-made cable. (i purchased from ikonoskop) . I think signal from hd-sdi is not stable or it is not coming at the beginning..

I have Small HD and never had a problem, if it flickers to blue it could be the power, it takes a litle time to find input after restart or power failiure.

ive had a problem where the viewfinder and hdsdi output just go black, but menu still appears. after a restart the problem is fixed

The A-Cam dll have a HDSDI with 1080p out, some monitors that do not accept a 1080p signal, only a 1080 PsF signal. Small HD works fine with our camera. We will make it possible to send a 1080 PsF signal soon. The HDSDI connector on the camera is a SMB connector. We will also make it possible to turn of "sleep mode".

Hi,

any news on conecting the IKONOSKOP properly to a monitor or external recorder via the HD-SDI output?

I got my camera 5 days ago and in the meantime tried to connect it to:

1. the Ki Pro mini. it failed to work, seems KiPro does not supotr 1080p 25...

2. Black Magic Decklink HD extreme 3. Couldn't get any signal there either.

3. A Marshall HD monitor with HD-SDI input and 1080p 25 suport. This didn't work either, only sometimes one single frame flashes on the monitor, the rest of the time it stays blue and says no signal input...

Any Ideas?

daniel
