In creating the title sequence for Story´s upcoming feature documentary the filmmakers used the A-cam DII with a set of 16 mm Zeiss primes.

The film is entirely made from archive material and the title sequence contains of shoots of a beautiful Steenbeck.

The film, The Black Power Mixtape, will premiere early next year.

The A-Cam dll records uncompressed RAW images in the CinemaDNG format.
CinemaDNG is an open, documented fileformat designed for storing uncompressed high-resolution image streams of camera RAW data. The fileformat is currently supported by Adobe, Iridas and Cineform.

Welcome to the A-Cam dII preview at NAB 2010

"- I'm pleased to be able to be involved and give feedback to Ikonoskop on their A-cam dII. The camera's fundamentals are strong, with a low noise sensor recording uncompressed images all in a great form factor. There is a shopping list of improvements already in the works so I can't wait to see where the final product might take us all", says Nick Paton.

Our first pre-order for the A-cam dII last year at IBC came from Nick Paton in Brisbane, Australia. I am very pleased to announce that we earlier in the month shipped Prototype 2.1 to him and that he for the last week or so has e-mailed us comments, appraisal and great footage from a city 'down-under'.

"- This camera isn't a mecano set but a camera built for the human form factor. I can't believe I can carry an uncompressed 1080P camera, memory cards, batteries, zoom, 9mm prime and filters in a backpack", says Nick Paton.

We have tried to build a complete out-of-the-box experience with both our products in terms of simplicity, form factor and weight. With a weight of roughly 1,5 kgs the A-cam dII is perfect for professional filmmakers traveling the world.

"- Ikonoskop is coming to market at a time where excess baggage expenses are at an all time high. I think it's safe to say the one could save at least 70kg in freight when compared to a full sized broadcast camcorder kit", says Nick Paton.

More Monday than Friday

As of today we have a sibling to Prototype 2.1 called Prototype 2.2 (Generation 2, build 2). I am looking forward to a busy week with two cameras to test and adjust settings on.

Of course we also have the subscription period for the upcoming IPO starting on Wednesday the 14th here in Sweden - so it will be an interesting week for the team at Ikonoskop!

Ikonoskop salutes that the two physicists who co-invented the CCD image sensor have been rewarded with a share of this year's Nobel Prize for Physics.

Willard S. Boyle and George E. Smith developed the charge-coupled device in 1969 while working at Bell Laboratories, producing the world's first solid-state video camera just a year later. Each receives a quarter share in the $1.4 million prize.
